Skill Development Workshop for Students on Self Discipline, Classroom Etiquette and Effective Public Speaking !!

On this 6^th May’16, a special workshop was conducted for the students from classes 8^th to 10^th on “Self Discipline, Classroom Etiquettes and Effective Public Speaking” which was facilitated by a nationally renowned life skills training organization, The Transformers Value Creators.

The primary impetus of the training was to generate the tremendous will power amongst the students so as to induce self control and self discipline.  Classroom etiquettes were also inculcated amongst the students by involving them in different role plays, sensitizing through videos and engaging them in various activities, in which students participated wholeheartedly and most enthusiastically.

Physical and mental involvement of the students enhanced their receptivity and was able to grasp the hidden message behind every task assigned to them earnestly. The sole purpose was in accrediting them with basic moral values and etiquettes along with developing of moral values like caring, loving, respecting and honest attitude.

The students were sensitized to avoid unethical means which leads them to nowhere, further instilling a responsible attitude towards themselves, parents, teachers, friends and the school. Thus, the prime emphasis was to develop them into a responsible student and a good human being.

Apart from this, this training session also laid emphasis upon developing of effective public speaking skills amongst students as one of the most important competency, which helps them to be more expressive.

The session was purposely designed to give them a public platform to express their ideas, thoughts, feelings and viewpoints publicly to boost up their confidence level which was an indirect approach to motivate and encourage students to express in front of their schoolmates and teachers.

Students shared their feeling actively, freely and confessed publicly, which instigated a hope that they themselves wanted to improve upon their shortcomings and want to lead a disciplined life. The enthusiastic response from the students and the spark for change in their eyes in the end of the training session was a firm confirmation that the objective of training program was well accomplished.

Manage Stress by Managing Time !!

Sessions on time management and stress management were organized to cater to the needs of engineering faculty across the country.

Sessions were purposely designed to make them actualize that they have  a strong  inbuilt power within themselves  which  can be utilized to overcome  problematic  situations confronted by them in the daily routine and  lead a healthy and peaceful life.

The session made them realize the Importance of being self motivated and self driven. Through an energizing activity the teachers were made to leave behind the ‘I cannot zone’ and enter into the ‘I can zone’.

With prime emphasis that Happiness lies in accepting the change, changing the change and leading the change.

The multifarious activities which had to be completed within a set time frame wherein they practiced effectual utilization of time. Saving few minutes of the day for your own self is vital for a calm and peaceful mind for which Meeting yourself daily is as important as meeting others.

 Also, it has been scientifically proven that a Happy Mind gives way to a Healthy Body. 

In spite of being senior faculty members, the participants were very enthusiastic and actively involved in the various Innovative and creative activities which  helped them to laugh and enjoy the present moment. Effective use of presentations and videos not only grasped their attention but also sensitized them more deeply.

Faculty Development Workshop on Unleashing the Creativity of Teaching !!

                 

A Faculty Development Workshop was conducted to stimulate the creative style of teaching by engaging students in various creative activities.

The purpose of this training was to enhance the creativity amongst the children and teachers to make learning easy and interesting.  Moreover, it is a proven fact that learning through fun is retained for a longer duration or throughout the lifetime. Thus, it is the need of the hour to reform our teaching    methodologies, which would certainly result into the holistic development of the students.

In the ancient times, similar teaching practices were followed by the GURU’S to impart quality education to the learners but with the passage of time real meaning /concept of education has been lost somewhere. Thus, it is our prime responsibility to maintain the same standard of education by implementing teaching practices based upon experiential learning.

Teachers were sensitized upon the need of holistic strengthening of the students, which requires the practical involvement or engagement of students in the learning process in order to strengthen their physical, intellectual, social, artistic, spiritual and creative potential.   

Moreover, enabling students to realize their inner strength was the most important aspect of this training module. In this workshop, various indoor and outdoor activities were organized in which all the teachers participated actively and wholeheartedly. Teachers were convinced and actualized the significance of being creative in teaching, which is important for the clarity and better understanding of the concepts .

In the end of the session, missing links were identified and resolutions were taken up to ensure reforms in education leading to overall development of the students. Teachers  were  excited  to execute this new model of learning in their classrooms for better results .

In short, giving chance to  the  students to think in their own style, as every child is naturally intelligent and they can do wonders when allowed to  analyze and perceive  in their own individual ways where they  think beyond the logics,  experiment with the facts, commit mistakes and create new.

Contributions of the “The Transformers Value Creators” towards the Upliftment of Society !!

 In the dynamic professional world and highly competitive times of today there is a dire need to develop and inculcate Positive ‘Life Skills’. “The Transformers Value Creators”, is a live example of a successful Knowledge Enterprise, having Trained and Counseled more than 30000 individuals since the time of its inception in August, 2013. Moving ahead with this in this direction of inculcating Human Values, Spreading Awareness & Transforming Lives, "The Transformers" have been time to time taking up special projects.

1 ) One of the Major Project has been “Spreading the Awareness Against Child Abuse” with the prime objectives to promote :

 a)          Maximum Children Safety by creating awareness against Child Abuse

 b)          Respect and Recognition for both the Genders

 c)          Difference between a Good Touch and Bad Touch

d)           Necessary preventive measures to avoid child abuse

As a part of this awareness drive, The Transformers have conducted such sessions in more than 100 schools in the states/UT of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal & Delhi. Such awareness is being imparted on a vast level to 1000’s of individuals’ right from preschool children to secondary school students, teachers and parents as well, with the help of various animated videos, real life stories, practical exercises and presentations.

2 ) In yet another social initiative of The Transformers, they have been continuously working for the “Upliftment of Women particularly from Urban Slums and other underprivileged segments of the society”.

In association with various NGO’s involved in developing different vocational skills amongst women, "The Transformers" has also been contributing in the enhancement of these women in terms of their self confidence, self esteem, communication along with various other Entrepreneurial skills of Money Management, Convincing Power, Negotiation Skills, Presentation Skills, etc. "The Transformers" has also facilitated many women in establishing their own income generating ventures by seeking financial support through various Nationalised Bank.

3)  “Shaping Future & Lives of the Less Privileged” is another project of The Transformers, where we have been counseling students from the Economically Weaker Section, on the aspects of Education, Career & Life. The students are not only guided with various educational and skilling programs but also made aware about various financial assistance available in terms of different scholarships, stipends, educational loans, concessions etc which proves to be a boon to those meritorious students who are not able to continue with their studies due to various financial constraints.

4)  “पढ़ो और पढ़ाओ, जीवन उज्जवल बनाओ” is another major project wherein "The Transformers" have been contributing to promote willingness for education and reduce drop outs amongst children from the slums.  Such workshops are designed as per the level of the children and promote maximum involvement through different games, activities, brain teasers, real life case studies, inspirational videos, in order to promote maximum interaction, participation and have a deep and long lasting impact.

5) "The Transformers" have also been doing various awareness sessions and training programs to promote “Self Defense against Crime” for all age groups and both the genders with the main objectives to:

• Acquaint and Sensitize with the various types of crime prevalent in our society.
• Create Awareness for how to Protect and Defend oneself from crime and simultaneously be a support to the others in problem.
• Create Awareness regarding the various Law for Defense.
• Inculcate strength and spirit to fight the wrong and contribute towards eradication of crime or injustice.
•  Create a more Sensitive, Vigilant & Assertive Society.

6) “Celebration of National Days & Festivals with the Less Privileged” is one major inspiration for The Transformers to reflect goodness and share happiness with surely the less fortunate ones. These celebrations are on, almost throughout the year inclusive of National Days like Independence Day, Republic Day and other festivals of importance like Diwali, Christmas, Parents Day, Women’s Day, Valentine’s Day, etc. The Real Joy and Spirit of each Special Day is made to feel more intensely and experience it strongly in form of songs, videos, games, activities and lots of discussion. 

The Transformers Value Creators is continuously working in the direction of making an effective contribution towards the upliftment of individuals and betterment of the society, where the costs of all these social initiatives are managed from its own profits and without seeking any sort of financial aid in form of donations or any other funding from any other private agency or any Government body.

In the modern times of today, for the better upbringing of Children and to have a comfortable lifestyle, both parents working is a common scenario. With the most of the nuclear families prevalent today, mostly the kids are alone at home, surrounded by various kind of threats. Under such circumstances, its really hard to decide upon who is trustworthy and who is not. Also need not to mention that most of the times, its our own people involved in doing wrong or damaging the most vulnerable i.e. our children.

Situations are so bad that the toddlers or the young children do not even get to understand or realize that their very own relatives or known ones, who pretend to love them the most, can prove to be the most harmful. With such devils as a part of our society, for whom these innocent children are just nothing more than sex toys, then why is that, topics like gender sensitization, adolescent problems and sex education, still not very openly discussed and talked about by the parents with their children or are till date preferred not to be imparted awareness even in schools?

One of the reasons for this inhibition may be our orthodox views for which we keep waiting for the right age of our children, when they will be able to understand well and even we as Parents or Teachers would also not have to stretch much beyond our comfort zone in explaining it to them.

But then what needs to be realized utmost is that a criminal mind would never wait for your right time.  Hence till the time almost every child even in their initial formative years is made aware of “Good Touch” & “Bad Touch” and the difference between the two, such criminals may keep exploiting our innocent children.

Under such critical times, “The Transformers Value Creators”, the No. 1 Life Skills Training Organisation of  the Tricity, as a part of their social responsibility, has taken up an awareness drive against to promote Children Safety with the prime objectives to impart awareness on:

1. Difference between Sex and Gender and related Guidance

2. Respect & recognition for both the genders.

3. Awareness against child abuse.

4. Difference between a good touch & bad touch.

5. Necessary preventive measures to avoid child abuse.

6. Understanding and addressing of various problems related to Adolescents.

With the prime objective to create a more sensitive and safe society for our future generations, i.e. our children, very interactive and participative sessions are being conducted across the various schools in the tricity along with in the interiors of Punjab and Haryana. Separate sessions are designed and executed as per the age and level of understanding of the students, which are further backed up with various animated videos, real life stories and colorful presentations.

Huge Transformation is required for a person to transcend from the cool college life to the stringent professional decorum. The intrinsic hardening needs to be initiated, in the last year of the professional program, followed by regular guidance, consistent grilling and continuous individual counselling.

To enhance and further upgrade this process of preparing their students for the Corporate World, one of the reputed colleges in Haryana, with 2 decades of existence since 1995, Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Radaur, District Yamunanagar, decided to conduct a specialised workshop for their engineering students.

 The need for this workshop was primarily to prepare their final year students for the placement drive being conducted by one of the topmost IT company.

Under such critical circumstances, the JMIT institute joined in hands with “The Transformers Value Creators” a reputed Life Skills Training Organization from the Tricity of Chandigarh. Where a 2 days workshop was conducted 10 days prior to the final Placement Drive, catering to the needs of 350 final year students on the following need realised topics of :

1.    Interview Facing Skills

2.    Resume Writing

3.    Positive Body Language & Grooming

4.    Corporate Ethics

5.    Email Etiquette

 The workshop started with a great enthusiasm including some very energizers so as to inspire the participants and ease out there stress levels.

The participants were further involved in role plays, which were further discussed and elaborated involving the maximum participation, so as to make them aware and realize the intensity of the real situation and accordingly enhance upon their capability.

Through various specialized audio visual aids, the participants were given specific tips to present themselves in front of the interview panel in the most positive, professional and yet original way.  

As a part of the technical session on resume writing specific differences were highlighted between Resume, CV and Bio-data and the participants were further guided to Design and Draft a Professional Resume as per the universally acceptable guidelines.

Session on Email etiquettes included a practical email writing session, based upon the examples as per the specific requirements of the respective organisation coming for the placement drive.

At the end, in association with the in house professors, Mock interviews were conducted so as to let the participants have a complete insight of what they are going to face on the actual day of interview and to build upon their confidence and real potential.

By the end of workshop all the participants were really motivated and were looking forward to the Special Day of their Interview with all the more Enthusiasm and Positivity and expressed their warm and humble gratitude towards the Team Transformers and their management for organising such a fruitful workshop.

The real outcome of this workshop was felt and realised when 92 students from this batch of 350 students who had attended this 2 days workshop with “The Transformers Value Creators” emerged with winning colours and made it through their placement drive.

On 30th August’15, which was another bright and blissful Sunday where “The Transformers Value Creators” a reputed Life Skills Training Organization from the Tricity of Chandigarh, in its another very thoughtful initiative joined in hands with the Rotary Club Shimla, to promote willingness for education among-st children from the economically weaker section.

 A Special Workshop was conducted for the children at the Kasturba Balika Asharam, Durgapur followed by distribution of chocolates to all

.

On the same day lunch was served to the resident children of the Sarvodaya Asharam, Rockwood which was further backed by a similar kind of workshop for the young boys at the asharam. Here the children of Himgiri Kalyan Ashram, Mehli also attended the workshop.

The real objective of these workshops was to emphasize upon the importance of education in life and further develop the willingness for education through most innovative and creative ways.

Both these workshops were designed to involve maximum participation through different games, activities, brain teasers, real life case studies, inspirational videos, in order to promote maximum interaction & entertainment and have a deep and long lasting impact.

With maximum personal involvement and the very warm gesture exhibited by the Team Transformers & all the Rotarians, this Sunday become an unforgettable experience for the young minds and the innocent hearts.
